No, rocket science is a fairly mature field, and the physics involved is relatively simple. Rocket *engineering* is very demanding because of the extreme temperatures and forces involved, and some of the failure modes are spectacularly catastrophic. I suspect that is what inspired the popular use of "rocket science" to denote something complex and difficult.

anything you don't understand is the most complicated field.
in my opinion, this is sewing.
rocket science? not so bad, a BIT too heavy into engineering for my tastes, but a good math background and a good teacher and you will be fine.
Sewing, though. Well, buttons fall off. I think Newton meant to make that his 4th Law. I don't think anyone really understands how to put them back on.

No, it's not. Many children make rockets with little kits in their third grade science class.
My guess would have to be genetic engineering for the most complicated field.

Not by a country mile. Many professions in several disciplines are more complicated by orders of magnitude. I'm thinking of things like theoretical physics, genetics research, nanotechnology; you know, difficult things. No offense to any rocket scientists out there - you're doin' a helluva job!

The best response I ever heard to a question like this came from a neurosurgeon, who said about his work 'hey, it's just brain surgery', which got everyone's attention. He explained that he did brain surgery all day, every day, and so was good at it; in fact, he insisted that you would much rather have your brain surgeon have this attitude than 'OMG, it's BRAIN SURGERY'. So, to those of us who have studied and been rocket scientists, nope, not the most complicated thing...heck, it's just rocket science.

Not by a long shot. I would have to give my vote to quantum mechanics. It's where weirdness meets science and it defies every concept we have of the macro world. As the old saying goes, "If you think you understand quantum physics, you don't understand quantum phyics" Quantum physics says there is a possibility of you dematerializing on Earth and materializing on Mars. I grant you, it is a very small probability but not impossible.

Dear friend,
it is one the most difficult because it needs different field of engineering such as mechanic, chemic, phisic.

no definetly not.
when they say those things that refer to rocket scietists are smart, it is just a comparison.
rocket science is hard, but i think something in mathematics is harder.
actually a lot of things

no. i would say theoretical physics, mostly just the equations involved, they look so complex.
