I spent most of my day running around stupid, trying to get a thousand and one things done today...
I was out and to the bank and then grocery shopping before 9. Back to vacuum the main floor through, while my oldest daughter dusted and polished. I had wanted to also wash the floors and wax today, but that will have to be done tomorrow, as mid-afternoon I discovered I had no more new vacuum cleaner bags...so it was back to the store in the beginning of our latest snowstorm. Did you know that you can get acceptable alternatives to your vacuum cleaner bags at the dollar store? Two bags for $1, which seems like a good deal to me!
We were doing all this because I wanted to get the tree up today. It IS only 10 days to Christmas now, and when you have three little grandsons in the house, you try to make sure that the holidays are always special for them!!
But the tree was up, the lights, angel and crepe paper bows in place when they got home from toboganning, so they could get right into hanging the ornaments and putting on the icicle tinsel.
So now I am beat. I feel very punch drunk, too.

Well, I'm pooped....the family is coming tomorrow for a day of good food, watching old home movies, looking at the family photo albums and generally hanging around, drinking good wine, a coupla shots of Zyr...eating Christmas cookies and drinking hot chocolate (I'm the only one in the family that makes it from scratch. Everyone else uses that awful "mix" stuff-YUK!)
Been cooking all day - good yummy stuff - even if I did have somebody, I'd have to decline.....HA!

Same here. I was waiting for it to snow so I could shop for Christmas( I HAVE to be in the mood.) Well, it snowed for the first time at 10 tonight AFTER the stores are closed.
I still have my money though. :)

I'm laughing hysterically at slks answer ! My husband is upstairs and I'm still alone ,so we'll all be alone together. Here is a link for you hope you enjoy it. I remember hearing them a lot when I was little.
