I absoultly loved the name Hunter for years. Since I am basicall they youngest in my family (only 2 under me) I will be last to have a baby. My cousin got pregnant and named her baby Hunter.
Don't/Wouldn't you hate that!

If I name my son Hunter later on it would look like I copied and it would be confusing at family get-togethers.
It might be an even bigger problem though. Her Hunter was born with his intestines outside his body and has since been diagnosed with short bowel syndrome and has very serious lung problems. he is about 8 months old now.
If he dies, kids with SBS only live to about 5, wouldn't it hurt her to see my Hunter hopefully healthy and vibrant?

That would be difficult to see your name used, which would make it awkward to name your son that later on, but I am sure it would be even more difficult to have a son born with such a disease. I am almost positive that you will find a name that you will fall in love with even more by the time you are pregnant, so don't stress it so much. I hope your cousin's son beats the odds and that you find a name that you like just as much for your future son. Who knows, maybe you'll have only girls? haha.

She's being a jerk approximately this and extremely immature. you're watching on your new child first and you had the call picked out first. Use it! tell her that she's being ridiculously immature approximately it and that she knows you advised her you have been utilising that call. provide her different names and tell her to %. from those, yet Liam Jarlath is off limits for her. it is so bogus. How thoughtless of her. Names for HER to apply (as you ought to use Liam Jarlath): Connor Jarlath Chase Jarlath Paxton Jarlath Dane Jarlath Zeke Jarlath Luke Jarlath Brody Jarlath Ike (Isaac) Jarlath Keaton Jarlath Keegan Jarlath Ryder Jarlath Reid Jarlath Reece Jarlath Gavin Jarlath Jace / Jase Jarlath Drake Jarlath i'm hoping she grows up some and realizes that purely by fact she likes a attractiveness, she would be in a position to't take it from somebody else. i'm hoping you do have a boy, and which you employ Liam. by fact she desires to be set right away and put in her place. She's being so egocentric and thoughtless approximately this. and he or she particularly desires to strengthen up. EDA: you additionally can pretend which you like those different names, or one among them and notice in case you are able to trick her into loving that call then, and then scouse borrow Liam decrease back. the two way, use Liam. You got here up with it, you employ it! =)

Hunter can be a girls name too, so pray you have a girl and name HER Hunter...then it might not be so bad for your cousin. Besides...it will be a while before you have a baby anyway...and their child may surprise everyone and live to be 100. You could always just pray that their child lives a long and happy life and not be so concerned about naming your "years away" baby after a deceased child!

We tend to choose less trendy/popular names for our children, so it's not as likely to happen, but my sister does tend to "steal" any we happen to mention (we know not to, at this point LOL) or suddenly add something eerily similar to her own lists ... so yeah, that can be annoying.
In your case, if it annoys you that a cousin used Hunter, perhaps you'd be happier with a name not already in or around the top 50 (Hunter has been that popular for over a decade). After all, uncommon choices are less likely to be "stolen" in general, and if you aren't comfortable knowing one other child with the name, it's likely you wouldn't have been completely happy with it had you gotten to use it anyway. So perhaps a good thing, in the long run ... if it helps to look at it that way! ;)

I would probably not be happy about that. Choosing a name for your child is a personal thing and shouldn't be treated as some kind of competition.
That's why if you ever became pregnant you shouldn't tell anyone except the baby's father what name you think would be nice for the baby to have. That way, nobody can "steal" it.

You're very sensitive. Why don't you ask your cousin how she would feel?
My aunt married a Richard, my mom named my brother Richard, and then my other aunt, who loved the name as well, named her son Richard. It doesn't bother ANYBODY.
When we were of baby-making age, our fav name for a girl was Amanda. My s-i-l called and asked if we would mind very much if she used Amanda on her daughter because it matched her first daughter's name, Amalia. I said, no sweat. We were having a boy this time and not sure we'd have another child. Even if we did have another child, we had lots of good names in mind.
Call your cousin. She may not mind at all.

Not really, things like that don't bother me. I was more worried about if the baby was healthy or not.
Maybe someday you'll like another name, or you could always name your baby Hunter as well.
