Who else hates when people answer questions in this category with "I'm not going to do your homework for you" or something like that? That is so annoying... What's the point of answering because if you don't answer at all then you're still not doing my homework for me... Or why are you even on Yahoo! ANSWERS if you're not going to give me an ANSWER?! That just ticks me off.

I agree Kylie. I mean I've actually never asked a question on here with help with my homework... but I've answered a few and it really doesn't help anyone to tell them you're not going to do their homework.

Analyn, sorry to put you down like this, but I don't think they should put that either, because, really, that still doesn't help anyone. I'd rather them just not answer at all. And lefty, I try to do the same thing!

Maybe they're just there to earn 2 points without helping but annoying people. They could earn points without saying such a thing like "Do your homework!". For me, they want to pretend to know the answer but in reality they are just deceiving themselves to appear as if they know and making the asker appear like a fool in front of others. We know those tricks. We can't be deceived. Now, for those who have homework and needs help I encourage them to post their questions. I together with the others are just too willing to help within our capability to do so and at the same time earning in an honest way our points. It is my belief that if somebody asks stupid questions we should not be carried into being stupid also by making stupid answers. It's just a question of whether or not you are willing to help. We just can't insult anybody by thinking he is stupid while we puff ourselves up with disgusting arrogance thinking we are intelligent and so it's OK for us to treat others as we like. We can avoid being shamelessly rude and walk past the question to find another that fits our taste. Just that, without violating anybody's right to ask question and at the same time exercising our rights too whether to answer or not.

This is the math section, not the homework help section. There are some people who actually come here looking for challenging math questions. What's really sickening is when you look at the 20 questions on the page, and nearly all of them is homework questions from a bunch of lazy bums. If you've ever really looked at the way people shamelessly post their HW, you'll feel differently about my indifference.

But thankfully Yahoo allows us to add people to our contacts, who actually ask challenging questions. That way we can easily find them.

It is also my sincere belief that stupid questions merit stupid answers.

I'd imagine it has something to do with the points. I mean, really... answering a question with "I'm not going to answer" is a cheap way to get two points! (Much like answering this question was an easy way to get two points. Sorry!)

I truly hate it when people do that. I come to Answers to help people whenever I can, and I think that negative comments are just RUDE and unnecessary.

Whenever I see a comment like that, I give that person a "thumbs down" rating.

its obnoxious, I go through sections to help people with homework, and if I see its already answered, I assume that its the right answer and dont read the question, so they are really hurting those that need help the most

You get those kind of answers when it is obvious you are just 'dumping' the problem 'holus-bolus' into the mix, also, when the problem is composed of just a set of similar problems all in the one compendious concatenated collation
