Thats where my grandparents used to live. I LOVE that area, SO pretty. Try driving to Point Defiance park. They have a zoo there that is relatively cheap. They also have flower gardens, walking trails and 100s of washed up logs that are fun to try to walk on and race over. Good Luck!

Go on hikes! There are lots of outdoor activities in Washington. Hiking in the mountains and walking/jogging/biking on trails and paths. But it is the winter, so you might not like the rain. There are also plenty of national and state parks to check out. Again, the rain. You can just go on road trips through here and check out the scenery.

I don't know how much the Point Defiance Zoo costs, but it can't be too much.

Point Defiance is a good zoo that has lights to look at for the kids. If you take the 5 mile drive there is free attractions all along there too including Owens beach (more rock than sand), an old fort, train museum, trails, and several nice parks.

There is a park across the street from Western State (name of it slips my mind) and they have lots of cool kid stuff to play on.

Check out the Spanaway Park drive-thru light show. There is also Zoo Lights at Point Defiance Zoo (pdza.org below). Also driving around different neighborhoods to check out lights on houses is fun...but kinda hard on the gas tank!

Have fun!

Go visit Gig Harbor - it is very pretty and civilized compared to where you are living.
