Black woman have had bubble butts since the beginning of time. It was looked at as a body flaw outside of the black community back in the days. Other than the sistas....who made it acceptable in society to have a rump shaker?

harmony8238 you're the ignorant one. U got upset bc I did not want to look at ur pic. You're a vegan and that is suspose to mean what? That u might be healthier than me? Now who is sterotyping? ......Diabetes?......I am less likely to develop diabetes bc I excercise daily, I eat a healthy well balanced diet. Occasionally I will eat foods that are not consider healthy like fried chicken. I drink lots of water and fresh juices. I take vitamin and mineral supplements. I do a one day cleanse every week to remove toxins from my boby and to give my organs a chance to rest. I get enough sleep and I love life and my family and friends. I am a healthy young woman. You're just old and bc your *** is flat, don't hate! lol

It has always been acceptable, just because in the last two decades, White people have decided it's beautiful doesn't mean that "Society" has suddenly deemed it a beautiful asset. We are society. Who gives a damn whether others accept it?

First time I remember men making a big deal out of women's asses was in the 50's. I never understood it. Later in life I saw some very nice curves and asses, and to me that was actually more about aesthetics than wanting to caress, kiss and care for the women's rear.
Then I figured that the big butts men liked in the 50s had to do with a woman's big hips, and it was a signal to men that she was ready to have lots of babies which, through evolution and procreation, made men go crazy. It's as simple as that.

Look back in any other time in history - and a ample woman was a wanted woman. Being big used to mean you had money to eat..lol...now it means you have the money to go to McDonald's. Our beauty standards change as our society does...but those old master paintings are beautiful.

Apparently it actually began in Victorian times!! Look at the Bustle gowns - which part of the body did it accentuate? Yep, the rear.
I found this on YouTube and it just tickled me silly... enjoy it!

A round butt has always been desirable. That doesn't necessarily translate into a big butt, as there are plenty of men who don't like large butts, but very few who actually like a flat butt. I for one have a round butt that sticks out, but few people would call it large. Beauty is mostly in the shape, the actual size preferences are subject to individual taste and generational fashion.

I don't know....I see Somali and Ethiopian women and a lot of them don't have that big bootay. A lot of them seem to be downright svelte.
Tastes change...
Marilyn Monroe had a little meat on her bones.....
then, what happens in the sixties?
twiggy.
but black guys seem to like those big butts.
I been in a few go go bars(as we called them back in the old days) and strip clubs.
Black dancers seem to wave that fanny around a bit more.

Roman times it was popular too, and off and on throughout history it's been popular. It comes and goes in fashion, out of fashion throughout the ages.

I would guess about 100,000 years ago, at the very least. It's only very recently that women think having the butt of a 12 year old is attractive.
