Idiots always play the race card.
Get over it, not EVERYTHING is about race.
"Whitey" isn't out to get you, stop using it as an excuse for everything bad in the world.

The "attacks" on Barry Bonds having nothing to do with his race. He happened to be in the process of breaking two of the most storied records in MLB history. Because of this, a lot more attention was put on him. For those of you that say he never used steroids, he did. He even admitted to using the cream and the clear. He claimed that he did not know that was what he was using and that his trainer gave it to him for sore muscles. Either way, it was illegal when he used them. As for Mark McGwire, the andro he was using when he broke the record was not illegal or banned by MLB at the time he breaking the record. Anyone could use that supplement at that time. Do I think that is the only thing McGwire took? No, of course not, but at least he was smart enough not to lie to congress about it. If Clemens took illegal steroids, then he will get what is coming his way. No one singled out anyone because of race, it was just a matter of Barry being in the national spotlight when all of this broke.

After the Mitchell Report, I think it's clear that it's not just a Barry Bonds problem. People used to love to hate Steve Carlton because he would not speak to reporters. Reporters tended to retaliate by writing unflattering things about him. Bonds is also ambivalent about journalists. He often gets less than friendly write-ups.
Senator Mitchell is part of America, yet he obviously doesn't portray steroid abuse as unique to black ballplayers. Read the report! Remember, Barry Bonds has been accused of perjury, which is a whole other legal can of worms. Mark McGuire, Rafael Palmiero, and Sammy Sosa also denied using steroid under oath at Congressional hearings, and that might come back to haunt them.
Selective prosecution is a real phenomenon, but the outrage right now is about baseball in general.

Maguire left the lime-light, he basically left planet earth. He knows that happened and donesnt want to confront it, and because nobody seems him they dont think about it, so they have nothing to question. The Clemens debacle just happened a week ago...What is coming for them hasnt happened yet...It also have a lot to do with the person as well. Barry is one of the most selfish guys in the game...you basically just have to hate him...to me he hasnt done anything good for the game except make 1 guy a lot of money (with the home run ball, if you didnt get that)...There are more important things going on with recism, which the big story in Houston is the best...

let me tell you under what conditions this would be a race issue.
If there were two players, Barry Bonds and Barry Bunds (who is EXACTLY like Bonds, but white).
If Bunds got better treatment for being a prick, using Cream and Clear, lying about it to the public, lying about it to the grand jury, then you may have a race issue.
But that didn't happen. You are probably just someone who really likes Bonds and don't feel that other people (white or black or hispanic) are getting the same lousy treatment that Bonds has and are upset. So, you dismiss it could be because of Bonds the person and the only thing your small little mind could come up with is.... It's probably a colour thing.
Bonds could be white, Asian, Indian anything, he made his decisions, he decided to lie about it and his treatment is exactly what he deserved. You should be blaming him, or even yourself for having unrealistic expectations of someone so shallow, so insecure, so pitiful.

I thought that Clemens is getting fried over this. I read a poll yesterday that said that there's a fair number of HoF voters who have said that they are unlikely to vote for Clemens now.
McGwire hit almost 600 HRs and he barely got enough votes to stay on the ballot.
This would tell me that its an outrage that these players may have used steroids which, I guess must mean they're black...

This report named a lot of different races! Cheating is cheating! The reason there is such an outrage on Barry Bonds is because he broke the most cherished record in the game while cheating! Hank Aaron did it honestly! Bond's records should be wiped from the books and he should be banned for life!

I am already seeing the outrage with Clemens..People were pretty outraged with all those on capitol hill including mcGwire, but mcGwire got out of the league so nobody cares anymore. The reason people are more outraged with bonds is he is a total jerk..No matter what color, the guy is a jack ***..remember the soldier who got one of his home runs and asked for an autograph....bonds said he would give it to him if he paid for it! 100% jerk..that is where the outrage is..he would be an *** no matter what the color of his skin.

dont even bring the fricken race card into it why is it that there is B.E.T(Black Entertainment Telivison) yet if there was a W.E.T it would be raciest. why can the mayor of new orleans say that the city will be a "chocolate" city yet if there was a mayor that said the city will be a white city he'd be raciest. why can daunte culpepper say that we need more black Quarter backs but if someone said we need more White Quarter backs he'd be rasiest.and dont call all whites KKK i dont go around calling all blacks ******* and hoes, no because the main percentage of white are descent along with the main percentage of blacks are raciest. and also learn the facts, mark maguire had many allegations against him and he did not lie in court. Bonds is being prosecuted because he lied in court and he has the record for most homeruns. macguire did not commit a crime, bonds committed perjury

i think this is a question worth asking. many will disagree with me but there is a difference between how many people see a crime committed by a black athlete and one committed by a white one. it will be interesting to see how clemens is treated in the court of public opinion now that he has been implicated. now we have the top hitter and the top pitcher of their times implicated for drug use. the main thing i want to see is if like bonds, clemens is not given the benefit of the doubt and is assumed to be guilty. also if he pitches again next year will fans have all kinds of signs and other forms of outrage at game like they did for barry. i would bet he doesnt get it quite as bad as barry did. i dont know if that is a racial thing, but in my experience that racial stuff always underlies.

Its not about race for me. I know that barry bonds and roger clemens both did steroids. Its obvious. I think there alot of racism in this world and it goes both ways.
