I don't think so, but I would like someone to prove me wrong. And I still stand by my statement that I will not watch the NC game.

They won a major conference and are the only team from a major conference with only one defeat. Under the current system that makes them a legitimate team to play in the BCS Title game (which is not a national championship regardless of what the BCS tries to say).

Obviously, other teams have arguments too, but since there are no rules to this game, you can't say that Ohio State doesn't have a valid claim just that you would rate other teams more highly. Until there are real rules rather than relying on the opinions of whichever assistants are delegated the duty of filling out the poll ballots for their boss this week, everyone is a legitimate contender.

EDIT -- Sorry, forgot about Kansas, but still only major conference champion with one loss.

P.s. In compiling strength of schedule, the effect of that team's games is normally eliminated (e.g. for compiling Missouri's strength of schedule, Kansas is considered to be an 11-0 teams since that was their record in all games except for the game against Missouri, but, for compiling Nebraska's strength of schedule, Kansas would be considered as a 10-1 team.)

Cut off your nose to spite your face huh. Just because you don't think one team or either team is deserving to play in that game. Which team is more deserving than any other team that is ranked in the top 10? On one hand ya'll say look at the schedule of one team,, but overlook the schedule of another team. Then talk about losses of one team but never mention the losses of the other teams or who they lost to. Some of the reasoning on here I read makes no sense at all. The debates over who belongs and who doesn't belong can go on forever and ever. Even with your almighty playoffs that you want so bad.. Debates of who got left out and who didn't deserve to be in the playoffs over your team or someone elses team will be there, you can count on it. I personally would have put Georgia against USC in the Rose bowl. But to think that Illinois doesn't deserve to play that game is BS. They have earned the right to play that game. Just like OSU has earned the right to play the NC game. It's not about what you or I think,, but what the voters thought the final week. The poll voters are what influenced the computer rankings to move OSU and LSU into the NC game. But, I think you will miss a good game if you don't watch it. It's your choice..... Don't ya just love our Country?

According to what the all the conferences and schools agreed to (BCS conferences and schools anyway), they absolutely are.

Also if you look at an average of all of the polls (that are at least half way legitimate)(see source below), they are one of the 2 best teams in the country.

Until someone comes up with a legitimate reason otherwise, who else would have been in the national championship game.

Probably not but neither is LSU but I guess that is what we are left with when our team loses more than once. Is the system perfect, no but to make an argument for another team to belong becomes a matter of opinion hence the results and match ups we are left with. Personally I feel USC belongs in the NC based on the following; We had two losses just like LSU losing to a higher ranked team then LSU did and USC was ranked number one at the beginning of the year and finished the year arguably the hottest team in the nation. But we lost to Stanford and the rest is history so the point becomes moot and we are left with LSU and Ohio St. Let me add USC will smoke the team that beat Ohio St and if the Buckeyes find a way to beat LSU then the real debate will begin at least amongst the fans!

Ohio State had only one loss, they had a very easy schedule which will probably change college football again. When the BCS first came out strength of schedule was a major factor, it obviously is not now. Everyone will be scheduling Youngstown State and Akron so they will have hallow wins. To answer your question Ohio State doesn't belong in a BCS bowl at all much less the Championship game.

Prove you wrong? Prove yourself right! Show me anything that proves they don't deserve to be there. Then prove LSU deserves it more. I dare you.

And don't give me that strength of schedule BS. Show me a link with a legitimate strength of schedule ranking for NCAA football that shows Ohio State played an easy schedule. Then show me two teams that deserved to be there more than Ohio State AND LSU, since Ohio State is clearly better than LSU. And they better not have two losses, because no two loss team deserves to be ranked no. 1 going into bowl season, ever.

Do it. I dare you. Otherwise, STFU. Ohio State will cream LSU. Prove me wrong on that too. I dare you.

Nobody deserves it more right?

Thier schedule strength is only 13 below LSU, and naturally, teams with more wins have a "lower strength of schedule" because they beat the teams they play (Duke has the Hardest schedule (1-10) Hawai'i has the hardest (Undefeated))

They also have one less loss than LSU, and it was to a better team than both of the ones LSU lost to

Yes, they are. They are one of 3 teams in the country that have less than 2 losses. They won a competitive Conference and are ranked #1. That makes them legitimate.

Good, dont watch the game, no big loss to the true fans.

Reasons Big 10 is competitive....
10 of 11 teams are bowl eligible... that means that they did well ooc. OOC record for Big 10,,, 35-9,,, two of those losses were to Oregon (who would be playing for NC had Dixon not been hurt) by Michigan and to Missouri by Illinois (who would be playing for NC had they not lost to a top ranked Oklahoma, twice)
just for comparison to show that the Big 10 is at least the equal of SEc ( 10 of 12 bowl eligible and 37-7 OOC record)

According to the cr@p system still in place LSU and OSU are the two teams that should play in the championship.
