I find that my lucid dreams last longer and are easier to control when they occur during periods of sleep where I'm closest to actually being awake.

When I'm deep in REM-sleep and become lucid, I find that it quickly slips away. It's like trying to walk upstream against a current.

But lucid dreaming in general provides just as much rest as, if not more than, uncontrolled sleep.

Worse if you think you are in reality.
