Are there still single women out there that are not trying to screw over every guy out there? I would just like to know if you try to have the best of intentions when going into a relationship, or if you are looking for what you can get and head right back out the door? I've tried to be as much of a gentleman as possible. Or do you think that I just might be doing something wrong?

She said that she just wasn't happy. No reason for not being happy. Just that it needed to be over. 4 years down the drain and she has a son I was very attached to.

why did you two break up?
if she did it, what did she say?

yes, there are always women who want a serious relationship, that problem is not a gender one.

you emailed me and asked me to expand my thoughts: i'll try.

you said you tried to be as much of a gentleman as possible......why? why did you 'try'? and did she want a gentleman? a little of that goes a long way, you know.

sometimes, if you are too much of a gentleman, unfortunately some women consider that a 'feminine' trait....SOME women and they are looking more for a strong man type, someone they know will protect them.

the problem is, if that is who you are, then she won't appreciate it and you need to find someone who will,..........but if you just 'tried' as you said, maybe you ought to stop trying and be who you are.

be the man, i guess.
hope this helps.

There are some good intentioned women out there, just really hard to find! But there are a lot that take advantage of a gentleman like yourself, and they give the decent women a bad name! But may need to strike a balance with being a gentleman, and also strong enough to not let women take advantage! If I wasn't married, I'd snap you up in a moment, you sound really genuine! Good luck with the ladies!

All I can say darlin is you deserve someone better than her. I know it's hard with the kid involved and all and it will take some time for sure to mend your broken heart but you'll get there. You are a great guy and I know there is someone out there that is much more deserving of a guy like you. Someone that will appreciate you and not use you like she does. I know, easier said than done, trust me because as you know I'm in a similar situation, but you just have to give it time and try to distance yourself from her as much as you can. There's still a lot of bad days, but for the most part it really does get better each day. New people come into your life, maybe you learn a lesson from them, like that there are girls out there that will treat you a hell of a lot better than her, and that's what you deserve. I've been learning that lesson myself lately...

sometimes people cant be happy 'cuz theyre not happy w/themselves. and no matter what untill they are, they will never be. and no we are not all out to get something, next time ask yourself "what can she bring to my table?" if answer is nothing maybe you should think twice. As far as the son is concerned you should try and keep some contact w/ him periodically. especially if there are so many in & out of his life. Good Luck to ya chad

I am newly single and have always tried to treat people well.
So well, in fact, that I have stayed friends with most of my ex's over the years-- some for over 25 years.

That's just who I am.

Keep being a nice guy-- it WILL pay off.

No, I never play games with someones heart. If I am dating you,
I'm serious about it and I'll give you my whole heart.. I'm not selfish about it..
You're not doing anything wrong. You will find the woman who appreciates the good man that you are sooner or later..
Good Luck :)
