I am a married man who goes for professional waxing but not the BSC yet.

My wife is a highly capable and highly intelligent woman but she has not learned how to do waxing yet and until she does, I am not letting her come anywhere near me with the wax pot and strips.

It has occured to me that we could both save money in the long run by going on a course together but so far we have not had the time.

The results of waxing are definitely worth the discomfort of being waxed by someone who knows what they are doing but not the pain from someone who doesn't!

I have never waxed my husband there, but I have waxed his chest, and it took at least a week to heal. I do admit, however he is rather hairy, which probably adds to the problem.

What is wrong with you?! Better yet, what is wrong with him for letting you do that to him?!

If he still has skin left, make sure to keep that area disinfected and wash as often as possible. Sweat/dirt can cause infections and ingrown hairs, which can lead to pimples and/or itching.

If you managed to pull off at least one layer of skin, try lotion containing Tocopherol acetate (Vitamin E). It should help heal sooner. Also keep clean (as stated above).

Otherwise, it could take at least a few days to a week, to a month, depending on how he heals.
