Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from the sun could do a lot of damage. They have been know to knock out satellites, and cause electric blackouts. If it were a big enough burb it could envelope the earth. Of course it could wipe out dogs and birds as well.

The doomsday bomb would make a mess, but the quiet lethal end to mankind will likely be a man made virus. There are some nasty ones that are developed and protected by the govt.

A really cool virus, that mutates so antibodies or vaccines won't be affective, and highly contagious...like a kind that creates spores in lung cells before it kills a person. And big incubation periods so no one knows they're infected, and the virus should be similar to a human cell or disable/confuse T-killer cells.

Something that could wipe out the world, basically? George Bush seems to be on the fast track highway to doing that...but it looks like before he gets a chance to do that he'll be gone. I heard he did gymnastics as a kid. Maybe he "took a tumble" on his head too many times. Seems that way...
