Unfortunately, as much as I hope that 2008 will be the year where America's basketball team will finally win the ******* gold medal at the Olympics, and where America will finally have a black president, Obama will get less votes. It's not that America is racist, it's just that America isn't ready for an African-American, or any minority, president. It's just a problem.

I would have no trouble voting for a woman, or a black person based on either of those facts alone. Personally, I don't care for either of their 'politics', but would consider positions on issues as they emerge. Alas, all of the principles espoused by either {political} party seem hollow at best. I'd to see proof of thought and guiding beliefs, etc. and I generally don't. I think Hillary has so much name recognition she will hard to beat, unless she really 'falls out' I don't see how she wouldn't be the candidate.

Only one of them will get the Democratic nomination so there is no race. One will get a lot of votes and one won't be running.
I only pray that America has gotten past the prejudice of voting against a woman, race of a candidate and religious affiliation (unless touted by the candidate).
What a victory if voters actually voted for who was best qualified to run our country.
Is this too much to ask?

Obama will get less votes for sure because about 20% of the american voters are blacks (advantage Obama), while about 50% are women (advantage Hillary). But, half of the blacks support Hillary (advanatge Hillary again).

if you are talking about the PRIMARIES, set to start next month, I have this feeling BOTH will fail and Al Gore will jump back in. After all, he WON the popular vote in 2000 and is at least "electable"...clearly no other Dem / Libs are electable. The Republicans WANT to run against Hillarious, like they WANTED to run against McGovern in 1972--Nixon CLOBBERED HIM.

Whichever one is less competent (namely Hillary) should get less votes.
But who am I kidding, right? Every old lady and soccer mom in the country is gonna vote for Hillary.

I think Obama has what it takes to beat Hilary, however, I hope Joe Biden really steps it up as far as campaigning goes. He is one great man!
