The process gets defined pretty well in High School I think. There, you have students "running for President" of the "student body", ok? There's an appearance of elections, people taking sides, forming "parties" that are at face value supposed to be "about issues"....and then the kids vote and someone "becomes president".

Which, at the end of the day, doesn't mean one damned thing, because the students aren't *allowed* any real power anyway, aren't *allowed* any real choices on issues that would matter to them directly, and are still basically *dictated to* by the same lot of teachers, counselors, and principals that they were before. Meet the New Boss, *same as* the Old Boss.

Now....scale this up to *adulthood*. It's much the same thing. We get to "vote" maybe, but only after *other people* get to dictate to us who is on the ballot. And the system is set up so that the votes of these *same people*, the diehard politicians and their financial backers, are what actually makes the decision anyway, and *not* the popular majority vote. Really, just what do you *think* an Electoral College *IS*?

And it's all the same throughout. The "political parties"? Dictated to us by the money people. The "issues"? Dictated to us by the Mass Media, who is owned by....the money people.

Basically it's just another High School "election", ok? The only difference is that this time, it's the CEOs, One Percenters, Have Mores...and oh yeah, your *boss at work* who wants to *be like them*, they are the ones in the "teachers and principals" role this time. And like the "students" in High School elections, we can't *get rid of* these outside parties, and their *dictating our choices to us*, to save our own lives....

And the rest of us are the *screwed students*, unable and not *allowed to* make real decisions about things that *matter directly to us*. Sound familiar?

^_^ I thought so. Thanks for your time!
