Actually the Patriots and the Cowboys started playing in 1960. Before the SB era began in '65season.
in the 41 seasons (prior to this one) Cowboys have played in 8 winning 5, first played in SB V following '70 season, first win SB VI following '71 season.
Patriots first played SB XX following '85 season, first win in their 3rd attempt SB XXXVI following '01 season.
Patriots last appearance and win SB XXXIX following '04 season.
Cowbowy last appearance and win SB XXX following '95 season.
Total Score
Cowboys 5-3 Patriots 3-2 that is .625 for Cowboys to .600 for Patriots for those who can not do the math.
So it took Patriots 15 years longer to make the SB and 30 to win it than it took the Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys were/are/will be America's T€am. Get over it

played in their first super bowl 16 years later. won their first one after 31 years
though I could be off by one year on both of those, depending on how you're counting from 1970. Do you count the regular season year or the year the super bowl was played in? For example, they went to the Super Bowl in 1986 after the 1985 season
