(...my response to an earlier question)
...good grief, are you kidding??? The so-called 'infected' looked like failed, low-grade Morlock character audition applicants, from that horrible 2002 sci-fi snoozer, "The Time Machine"; I was far from impressed with them, as well as the rest of the film. The original novel had so many great intense and dramatic plot points, which this new cinematic incarnation failed oh-so miserably to touch upon (...including the ending); storywise, I felt like I was watching a simpleton, pared-back, bare-bones basic "Dick & Jane" version of the story, geared specifically for the general masses, who might find the complexity of the original story, too....umm, complex(?)...
...heck, I was even moved during the oh-so sad and strained 'Old Yeller' moment in the film (...which I saw coming a mile away); in fact, I was so 'moved', I even got up, went out and used the restroom...which I never do, during a film...
...anyways, I guess for every two or three really great Will Smith movies, there occasionally has to be a really mediocre one (...can y'all say "Wild Wild West", folks???)

It was all an occult agenda. The butterfly was alluding to the butterfly effect, the fact that Will smith,a black man was the lead was also interesting. Since the black man was the first on earth and will be the last. Also perhaps has to do with the ffith sun and 2012 connection. Since they are not able to be in the heat as most pale skin people cant. It all has its esoteric connections. Like when he was fishing at the metropolitan museum in front of the egyptians kings. I think it was the temple of dendur all a connection to the egyptians.
the butterfly has alot to do with the butterfly effect phenomenon and it was a tatoo on the womans neck just like the white rabbit in the matrix.

I just saw the movie and I am in NO way, shape or form disappointed about this movie.
I went in with very high expectations and my expectations were exceeded.
Will deserves a best actor oscar for this one.
I still felt the chills in my body 30 mins after I watched it.
I just have nothing but accolades for the movie...
-Great action
-Intense suspense
-Amazing surprises
-Heroic ending
-Witty humor
It had it all!

I was actually ok with the way the movie ended. I'm just a little disappointed by it being so much different than the book, but all movies made from books are that way.

It was slightly disappointing. I wanted to see him single handedly cure the diseased humans and start a whole new world of people. the whole camp thing and "god told me" was stupid. i wish he would have never met the ladie and her kid. It would have been better if after his dog died he went out and found a ferocious black bear to be his new pet. together him and his ferocious black bear could fight of the vampires until he cured more. a good idea also would have been for him to find out the medicine worked on the girl vampire that he captured and inserted her blood into animals. then we could throw the animals out at night. when the things ate them the good blood would get in there body and heal them. amazing ideas, both of them. i pick mine for best answer

I thought it had a relatively contrived ending, like they knew they had to tie things up at the 2-hour mark.
I was distracted at the beginning when some punk kid tried to steal my popcorn...

My daughter was disappointed. My granddaughter thought they should have not killed the dog. I did not enjoy it at all
