It might be croup....My son also had an ear infection and giving the same meds and while he was on he got a mild case of croup. I hope she feels better soon. My son got croup around Thanksgiving and finally got rid of it like 5 days ago.

With ear infections try holding your baby in a more upright position so that nothing is left in that ear, nose & throat area. I don't know how old your baby is but with the runny nose she may be cutting teeth. That was the only time my son had a runny nose.
If it is an upper respitory problem (croup) try turning the hot water on in your bathroom (bath/shower) and sitting in there with the baby to help clear the lungs and you could use a vaporizer at night.

It could be just a common cold. Ear infections are common, because of the Eustachian tubes being blocked. I know the antibiotics are over prescribed. I have seen it with my own children. But from the standpoint of a parent, they want anything that might ease the symptoms. I have heard of antibiotics being prescribed for a viral problem, which is worthless. Even doctors make mistakes. Good luck, I hope your daughter is feeling better.

Are her lungs congested? Does she seem like she's having a hard time breathing? If not, it could just be (REALLY) teething! Teething can cause many different symptoms in different children. My 4 all had different symptoms, and different attitudes toward teething. I have a small daycare in my home now, and have 2 infant boys.....one is teething right now at 7mo, and has a fever off and on..never over 101., diarrhea at times, and even gets a runny or plugged up nose and it can even be green/yellow at times.

Good Luck
