I have a split mortgage, that I did not want but my recently separated wife and her brother did have everything to do with. I thought we were being taken care of but we, got screwed now a year later she left and I am left with holding the problem. Is there any way for me to save the house??? I am in a chapter 7 now in WA state, can I save the house??

yes, mortgage companies have what is called the Loss Mitigation department or bankruptcy department that will work with your bankruptcy trustee to schedule payments and should be on the schedule of equity and debts on your bankruptcy papers since the mortgage is attached to your property.

the situation now about housing economies I'm sure they can help you. talk to them how they can help you and adjust your payment or what ever you can afford just for a moment. If you are a lavish person probably you need to stop that just for now until you get your house back on track.

Great time to contact the lender and tell them you have filed, but, would like to work something out with them. I guaranty you they will be happy to talk.
