I have nothing to hide I don't care if they wiretap my conversations. It is a great reach to compare GWB to Hitler.

Sorry, I have seen it done several times, but can't locate them.

How 'bout a portion of this email I received from Sacramento far left talk show host and doctor, Doug Everett?

"And as a kid I was always AMAZED to contemplate Germany in the 30s & 40s. I did not think that an informed American populace would endorse evil and believe the lies of a propaganda ministry. The last decade has educated me. Wrong assumption. The key is repeating the lies over and over again."

This obvious piece of senseless rhetoric dropped in my mailbox as part of a rage filled assault on me and/or about Bush after Mr. Everettt visited my web page which lists some Anti-Hillary links.

If anything, I could see this diatribe being applied to Hillary's 'Right Wing Conspiracy,' but instead, he's left me with no idea of what 'lies' he is speaking of, as there is no proof of such Bush 'lies' and instead, just as we see here daily, only convoluted conjecture and lies concerning lies.

Even the supposedly 'educated' in this country are easily pushed over the edge when faced with the reality that their icons are not viable and fall upon the ridiculousness of the 'Nazi comparison.'

- things that make you go, hmmmmm

I don't have any links; I try to forget these people. I find them totally ignorant of history which, considering they have the History Channel, is pretty pathetic. How anyone could know anything about that era and then compare anyone in our government to Hitler or his buds, is absurd. I mean, you can hate the guy all you want, but let's keep the comparisons as logical as a dem/lib can, which I realize is difficult. Further, I think it's an insult to all those who went through that era. To me, it lessens their suffering as if to say it wasn't all that bad. That's unconscionable!

BTW---I am sooooo glad to see you back here! We can use all the intelligence and reason we can get!

And Chi guy usually knows better.

He and his political machine have read the Hitler Gobbles play book and made use of his methods for sure, Hitler was a masterful politician, by any acount but that is the best that can be said.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Joseph Goebbels
The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly – it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over.
Goebbels, Joseph (1897-10-29 - 1945-05-01)
How fortunate for leaders that men do not think.
Adolf Hitler
The art of leadership... consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention.
Adolf Hitler
The broad masses of a population are more amenable to the appeal of rhetoric than to any other force.
Adolf Hitler
The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one.
Adolf Hitler
The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category.

“Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power”
Benito Mussolini quote

Julius Caesar:
Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind.
And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so.
How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar.

tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side.

George Bush doesn't seem to err on the side of caution when it comes to civil liberties, even those of American citizens on our own soil. To call him Hitler may be a little premature. However if you really look at some aspects of the Patriot Act, and when you think about the fact that some administration officials have even tried to circumvent the FISA courts, it's scary.

Sure. As with Hitler, GW Bush used the fears of Americans, post 9/11, to manipulate them into invading a country. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 yet neo-cons are so afraid and filled with hate that Bush and Cheney are playing them just like Hitler played upon the fears of the Germans. Just as Hitler convinced the Germans to lower their standard of ethics for the greater good, so has Bush.

Now we see American citizens saying torture is a good thing and warrant-less wiretaps are a good thing. We see neo-cons calling Americans traitors and communists for daring to question the rule of Bush. When people (mainly neo-cons) stop being guided by their fears, rational thought kicks in and the Bush goggles fall off.

edit: So much for supporting the US Constitution if you don't care about the 4th amendment anymore. Apparently Bush's Hitler tactics of manipulation have worked. By your words, only criminals should care if Bush tramples over the US Constitution. Does that make much sense?
