Yes I have and I learned there were NOT a lot of things in there I had been told were in there, and a lot of things have been misquoted, and a lot of people are bad to take things out of context, to take pieces instead of the whole.
It is very misunderstood by a lot of people.
It is very much like a 1500 piece puzzle, you have to get all the pieces together to get the truth.

Okay, I skipped through some of the 'begats' and parts of Revelation, but other than that, yes.
While there are many pearls of wisdom along with some epic tales of bravery, love and betrayal in it, it is largely a silly book, made up by some ancient Hebrew men, full of allegory and legends, designed to provide leadership for a people in need of a leader without having the corruption that almost always comes along with a human leader. The wonder of this book is diminished greatly by the fact that, historically, the people who use it as a Holy Text are warlike and mean, and seek to exterminate everyone who doesn't believe the same thing they believe. For proof of this watch the nightly news. Those guys we're killing in Iraq and Afghanistan sure aren't Christians. Those guys we killed in Viet Nam, Korea, and Japan weren't either. Native Americans, Africans, South Americans all fell under the yoke of Christian oppression because they didn't follow the one true way. It's Ironic that most Christians will claim to be peaceful people, the victims of oppression themselves, while history tells a different tale.

No, I am not going to lie. I went to a Christian College and know a lot of people who probably have read the Bible word for word over and over though...

No and I doubt that anyone has really done that. What version of the bible. Is that version a true translation? How many things have been changed from the time it was originally written. How do we know that was actually the original version?
According to ALL bible experts, every version has certain books left out.pp

Yes, the Protestant Bible, anyway. It took two years of following the daily lessons and filling in the gaps. Haven't yet read all the Apocrypha, but I hope to.
