I've heard from a lot of hockey insiders that it's because their young talent isn't afraid to do different things with the puck. Like Sam Gagner and his impressive resume of amazing shoot out goals.

Probably same reason Dallas were last year--good shooters, good goaltending. Meaning if the Oil get into the playoffs they'll lose in rd. 1 like the Stars did last season. Shootout is fun and all but, let's face facts, those shootout wins hide a lot of flaws.

They save all their talent and energy for the end of the game?! Other than against the Leafs of course, I hope the Oilers get better and improve their game over the season. Go Oilers!!

They're 9-1 in shoot-outs, I think. I heard that it's because they have a fresh influx of 18-year-olds in the likes of Cogliano and it's those kids that are putting more creativity in the shootout.
