I had over 3000 pics on yahoo photos, then they were closing and suggested that I transfer them to flickr. So I did and have been enjoying Flickr very much.

But now I just got an email saying that my trial period has expired and that I have to pay an annual fee to get access to my pics back!!! Well I figured that yahoo photos was just going through updates or enhancing their site, but it's been four months!!!

And wait did you know that Yahoo OWNS Flickr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If that aint the shadiest thing I've ever seen... Is yahoo gonna start trying to find ways to charge everyone for their services?

yes it was free when all pics were on yahoo photos but they made me move them to a service that charges me after a set number of days and that was in the fine print never easily visible!

flickr doesn't delete pictures, you must have misunderstood something. yeah, it's sad that yahoo owns flickr, BECAUSE i liked flickr much better before yahoo bought it.

It's not shady, it's business. I know it sucks but you should leave the bulk of your photos on your PC. But $24 a year isn't that bad if you use it that much. They are providing a service, and you probably didn't read the terms of agreement. Was it free before they started charging at all? They must have sent an email telling you the change. If they didn't then that is kinda shady...

First of all, there were many warnings about having to transfer your files over. Second of all, Yahoo bought Flikr and decided to cancel out their Yahoo Photos. Third, you were getting a free service, so you can't be complaining about it since you weren't even paying for the service in the first place. Even if they decided to wipe out all of your pics, you really can't complain, because they were never obligated to keep your pictures for you since you were never paying.

Another reason to always back up your pics.

I easily have observed that a brilliant number of extensive-unfold consumers not attend right here. And those that still widespread are continuously complaining relating to the trolls and the Yahoo vigilantes. i'm guessing that those human beings in basic terms get annoyed and circulate on. while the human beings working the sight do not care to rectify the themes that's what happens.

I totally slacked off and never even moved my pics off of Yahoo.

But, I do have copies of all my pics on my hard drive as well as backups on CD.

You should have a copy of your photos in your PC or in a CD.
