Obviously, intelligence insn't a factor when choosing presidential candidates as we can see from going back at least 3 decades.
Being clever enough to con people into thinking that you're smart....now that's the trick. ;)

Being clever, then you can read into people better and that will get you farther in life.
Getting along with people and what they call street smarts, that is clever.
