I've been low energy for about a few months now. I'm constantly tired, sick to my stomach, headache, and up to 6 canker sores in my mouth at one time. Even on my tongue! I had an infection in my hand along the cuticle about 2 months ago and it was a mild staph infection. Healed up and now the finger next to it and my big toe are infected again? Doesn't any of this match up to something? I can't get to the doc til Wednesday of course so i'm relying on you now!!

thank you for all your input! After reading some answers I decided to not wait and just to go the ER. Turns out I have mono. Which i was tested for a month ago. But it was probably too early to come on a test. And I have giardia. Its a parasite of the digestive system. I probably got it when I was in Mexico over my fall break in October. But thank you all for the answers!!

You need to get in to see a specialist in internal medicine right away. It sounds like you have a seriously impaired immune response and need some lab work to help determine exactly what the cause might be and to identify the appropriate antibiotics.
Good luck...

Everything you're saying is telling me the infection is not out of your body yet, and may be spreading. You need to get checked out imediately. Do you have a fever? Look up Sepsis, and you'll get some idea of what can happen when infections spread to the blood stream. Don't want to make you nervous, but if your finger and big toe are now infected, it could be spreading. Other possibilities that relate to these symptoms are impaired immune system, vitamin deficiency, Crohn's Disease, Celiac Disease, mineral dificiency, even STD.

You could be diabetic. Your immune system is weak. Without tests there is no way to diagnose over the internet. This could be mono, results of heavy drinking, exposure to staph infection repeatedly. For now, keep your mind from imagining the worst. Worry is non-productive and has an adverse effect on the immune system. Trust the doctors.

Chronic canker sores (Apthous Ulcers) are often a sign of Celiac Disease (an allergic reaction to the proteins in Wheat, rye and barley that damages the lining of the small intestine). All of your symptoms would be consistent with a diagnosis of Celiac Disease.

Sadly, even though Celiac Disease is very common (occurring in 1 in every 100 people), it is rarely diagnosed in the U.S. (only 3% of people with it ever get diagnosed properly by their medical doctor). This failure to diagnose this very serious and very common condition may be because it is a nutritional condition, and sadly, American doctors still do not get adequate training in nutrition.

Be sure your doc orders the proper blood tests to rule-out Celiac Disease (and don't be surprised if he/she resists discussing this issue!). Best wishes and good luck.
