Will power begins with won't-power. Excercise your choices, know your preferences, know yourself. Do what you need to do for your own life and be determined about it.
Self-discipline is firstly about deciding for yourself what disciplines you might find valuable in your life. Meditating or praying every day: writing a journal; rising early to excercise; reading a new book every week; these might be good disciplines to adopt. If you want to establish good habits for yourself set yourself a goal and keep working at it until it has become easy, then set yourself another goal to work to.
Sometimes people say "self-discipline" and "will power" when they are really talking about "obedience" and "conformity" or generally about how they want your behaviour to change to something they approve of more. But if they are imposing the kind of discipline they think that you should be developing then that is imposed discipline - not SELF-discipline.

It's hard. Monks learn self-discipline from their masters. Masters had a hard time to meditate before learning to discipline themselves.
Well, I have an easier way. Just have faith and ask God's help. He won't leave you anytime. He is faithful. And never be a perfectionist to have self-discipline. Because to have self discipline is a very long journey. You must not fret on failures although they hurt. Because failure is not fatal.
