If your Leopard Gecko truly has mouth rot (stomatitis) then you will have to take it to a vet that treats reptiles. The medication you are talking about is "Novasolon". It is diluted before being used on a reptile. A vet who treats exotic pets like lizards will keep this around. "Betadine" can be used to treat mouth rot as well. It is sold in drug and grocery stores. However, your Leopard Gecko will also need antibiotics. If there is plaque build up then it will have to be removed by the vet. Do not wait to get treatment for your lizard or it could get much worse. Infection can spread into the jaw bone. Remember that mouth rot (stomatitis) is a secondary infection. Antibiotics are an important part of the treatment. Many people lose their reptiles because they wait before taking them to a vet. If your boss at the vet clinic is not sure about reptile treatment then take your gecko to a vet who regularly treats reptiles.

They usually need their mouths rinsed with an antibacterial solution, and need to take oral antibiotics--only prescribed by a vet.

I'm not sure, but we ended up taking ours to a vet. Of course, it did come back. It's a hard one. Good luck.
