I'd honestly find it difficult to choose. Rio Lowe quite literally brings to mind a drought-level river. And Leon Lowe is a bit too alliterative for my taste.

I suppose it would depend on what you mean by "second" name. If Lowe is simply the middle name -- I'm assuming a family name, in that case -- the alliteration wouldn't bother me half as much, since it wouldn't be apparent in daily usage. In that case, Leon would definitely get my vote, of the two. ;)

But I'd also suggest Leo! An obvious combination of Leon itself and the nearly-identical sound of Rio. ;) Just a thought!

I would have to say that I prefer Leon Lowe, because Rio Lowe is cute but sounds like "Real Low" which is too cutesy and a tad silly.

What about Leonardo Lowe, with Leo or Leon as a nickname? I think that's cute and because Lowe is short the long first name works really well. Also, Leo Lowe is a little too LLLL but Leonardo Lowe sounds great.

You could also pick a longer name for Rio, using Rio as the nickname to avoid the Real Low predicament. A name like Richard could have the nickname Rio. Rio Lowe also rhymes, which is a concern... but longer rhyming names might work a little better, like:
Damarion Lowe
Gregorio Lowe
Riordan Lowe (means little poet king!)
Tiberio Lowe

Of all those names, I really like Riordan Lowe, nickname Rio or Leonardo Lowe, nickname Leo. (or Leon)
Good luck making your choice!

I like the first name of Leon better than Rio.

I like Rio. You don't hear that one at all and it does not sound as 'dorky' as Leon does. I think of all the stupid side-characters in movies with the name Leon and it just does not seem nice. But Rio could be a rather cool name for a kid.

I like the Rio Lowe one better. It's cute, modern, and unique. I think Leon sounds too old and stuffy.

i like the name rio better but the only person i know that actually has that name only uses it as a nickname short for mario so I'm not positive i like it just as a full name. Really i don't dislike either of them though they are both pretty good
