I think what the previous responder is trying to tell you is that your 500 rupiah note has a face value of appoximately US 0.0500 dollars or 5 cents.
The exchange rate web site the first responder cites is good, but I like www.xe.com better.
In the Standard Catalog of World Banknotes, your note is listed as catalog # P-123. It is dated 1988 and is worth about US 50 cents in average circulated condition as a collectible. 500 rupiah notes are no longer printed and have been replaced by a coin.
