I would say anything by BB King or Dinah Washington. I like blues, but I have to be in the mood for it. I remember going to Memphis and visiting some of the many establishments on Beale Street. It had a lot to offer.

I love BB King and can't pick a favorite song because he has so many great ones. He's gettin old too. I listen to a lot of his stuff on the "Bone Conduction Music Show" which airs on Fri. evenings on Public Radio in my area. Older and newer songs on there.

You should have a listen to Lyle Lovett, Little Feat and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. None are what you would call strict country or blues artists but mix both genres quite frequently in their repertoires.

I've always been partial to Taj Mahal. I used to be able to play "Fishin' Blues" on the guitar a long LONG time ago.
