Yes, but it will take several thousands of years. Due to the shifting of tectonic plates (the same reason California has earthquakes), California will eventually seperate from the US. But, that means it will eventually drift into western Asia after a few more hundreds of thousands of years and no longer be an island anymore.

Back in the 60s there was a great fear that California would break off from the continental US. It was rumored that Howard Hughes bought large tracts of land in Nevada because he was certain that it going to become beachfront property. There was a little ditty on the radio about it. Here are some of the words:
day after day
more people come to l.a.
(shh!) don't you tell anybody
the whole place slipping away
where can we go
when there's no san diego?
(shh!) better get ready to tie the boat
in idaho
do you know the swim?
you better learn quick jim
those who don't know the swim
better sing the hymn

I hope not, I live in eastern California at lake Tahoe just 1/2 mile from Nevada. If California breaks away it will be a drop of 6280 feet down to the beach!

Just like Lex Luther in Superman when the missile would hit California and make Nevada the new coast line.

Yup! And from what I've read, with the global warming melting the ice caps, we will see:
Florida, the lowest and flatest of the states disappear, along w/ parts of NY, Virginia, and the Carolinas.
But hey... at least we don't have to walk there.

If the theory of global warming is correct, what you worry about may come true in a matter of 50-100 years later.

We can only hope. Then the federal government can stop raiding sick and dying patients homes and throwing them in jail.
No, this theory is about the San Andreas Fault Line.
I guess there is some slight chance but I would think if it did it would go sink under sea level.

Nope. That's completely false. It can't happen due to the electromagnetic currents generated from within the Earth or somethin' like that. I heard that too, but someone I really respect as an intellectual told me that is not true.
