Well for me this year it would have been the Christmas Lights lit up on my house...but unfortunately all my money went into real estate projects that I had. I was supposed to be a millionaire this year and instead i cant even afford christmas lights!!! lol
One thing that I used to do when I was a kid that I still continue each year regardless of how much money I get...i get gifts for my neighbors/friends, usually ones with kids and drop them a gift at their house....we leave the gift...then we run away and leave a note from "santa's helpers"...we do this 3 nights and the joy/adrenaline rush is so much fun. now that im grown, i have my younger brother and sister run up to the houses, and im the one who drives off :)
I would have had the money actually to put lights up, but half the month was over and there really wouldnt have been much of a point...so this kind of makes up for it..I know many people dont do this, you should jump in the car with some youth and pull it off :]
Its more fun than just reading it...!! get to it!! =]
Then it kind of makes up for being a grinch all year round!! lol [like me] ;P

You have to remember that as kids we didn't need to make Christmas; we just received Christmas. As adults, we have to make it.
I think it helps to give to others, such as giving to a charity or volunteering, or doing something extra for family or friends.
Think of what you enjoyed about Christmas as a kid, and recreate it. Go ahead: visit Santa Claus! Build a snowman. Hang your stocking (and fill it!). Sing Christmas carols in the street. Watch your favorite Christmas movies.
Go to church and revel in the original Christmas story.
Make gifts for some people. Hand out candy canes at the office.
Merry Christmas!

Have a christmas party...! Go Ice skating, sledding and have a snowball fight. I'm not really sure. I know people with kids get their spirit back because they do all that stuff with their kids.

I think people that slow down, refuse to 'be all you can be' all the time at everything, ad nauseum, ad infinitum have better special times because they can. No need to keep up with details, schedules all the time.
Greater sense of purpose by focusing on doing a few things well?
