Difficult one to answer this Bex, just human nature I suspect. At the end of the day Xfactor is a talent show and that is what it should be - voting for talent. Sometimes they vote to be patriotic - Scotland voting for Leon. I have to admit in SCD, although I did not vote, I was praying Denise Lewis wouldn't get through because she was so up herself and I didn't care about the dancing! If I voted though I would be fair. xx

Isn't that the way it's always been ? Obviously people are not going to vote for someone they do not like and Rhydian probably made a few 'enemies' with that pompous claptrap he came out with at the beginning of the series.
Also, opinions differ as to what is talent...some people simply would not like Rhydians voice whilst others would love it. It is pointless getting so het up, the competition is over and, as usual, it is Cowell who is the winner.
Rhydian will get a contract anyway, so why worry? If he has enough fans he will be successful regardless of not winning the X-Factor.

It's the nature of the show Bex. Us voters are the only losers in some ways. They're asking us to vote in a popularity contest for, not only the acts, but also the judges and we fall for it every year. It's purely a show about weekly ratings and not talent.

For example, I know you wanted Rhydian to win but his voice really isn't up to scratch against a trained opera singer but as far as the show's production team are concerned, they managed to get Catherine Jenkins on the show so it was a case of "stuff Rhydian, we've got another ratings winner here along with Kylie and Jason"!

I can onlycomment on shows like American Idol or Canadian Idol and I think that the contestants should be behind a screen and be voted solely on talent.I can't understand how some people are voted off who are obviously talented.Unfortunately people vote based on what the eyes see and not what the ear hears. I hope this helps.Take care.

Well what can I say Bex as one of the voting public who voted for consistancy all along, voice, personality and star quality Rhydian I got it wrong.
Sob stories never work on me we all have relatives who we would like to help out and make their life better.
They should throw out the sob stories.
Sparkle my daughter said the same lol

Bex - Dermot did say there was only 1% between Rhydian and Leon -

I think they will both have huge success in their respective fields - i wish them the very best for their future. The Lion might roar - you just never know - he raised his game tonight...

Rydians voice didn't suit any of the pop songs, he was very talented but that style of music didn't suit him like it suits Leon, that's why he won plus Leon's an excellent singer too

I'd sooner listen to Leon than Rhydian on my CD, thanks -that's why I voted for him - I live in Wales,I am English but I voted for the Scottish contestant because I liked him better (and he didn't have a scary orange face !)

Well you have to like someone or otherwise you ain't going waste your hard earned cash on them. Does that make sense? I mean you're not going to vote for a total dick head, are you?
Oh and I was not referring to Rydain before you pounce
I meant like. Lets say this awesome singer comes in and hes so great but hes so full of himself and thinks hes better than god then I would rather vote for someone scraping their nails down a blackboard.

Because that is the way it has ALWAYS been in this country. Everything is a popularity contest. God bless America [insert sarcastic grin here].
