I think that in society today with all of the ridiculous rudeness that is being thrown around it is alright to stoop to their level. When you paid for the movie, just like they did, you have the right to enjoy it and so does everybody else in the theater. I've told people that its not their living room or their board room or their home office and I'd appreciate it if they kept it down or got off the phone if they didn't want to reimburse me for the movie ticket. And hey, if they are too far away to do that, stoop to their level and let the spitballing commence. Why not right?

Talk during previews but during the actual movie presentation you should be quiet and let the people on the screen talk. You paid for the movie and so did everyone else so wouldn't you think it's rude and pointless to sit and talk over it? Cell Phone....turn off the ringer and try not to let the annoying light be visible to people around you as it is also annoying. Are you a Doctor? Do you have a sick parent or child and need to be on call for emergency? Is your wife due to go in to labor? Are you running a giant corporation? If none of those. Try leaving your cell phone off for 2 hours

What they need to do is find a way of stopping the cellphone signal from getting into the cinema - so that its inside is a dead zone as far as the cellphone network is concerned. If they can do it for prisons, why can't they do it for cinemas?

This is just one reason why I don't go to the movies - I wait for stuff to come out on DVD. Another reason is foul chewing gum under the seats etc. Yuk!

Oh yes, I do enjoy the sound of an obnoxious girl chatting with her friend on the phone in the movie theater.

Absolutely not! It's in considerate and self-ish! People should always turn their phones off, silent, or on vibrate, and definetly never talk during a movie! It's incredibly rude.

who actually enjoys when people do that?

People who talk on their phone during a movie just have no common sense.

Not only do I hate people that do that, but also who insist on talking on their cell phones in public PERIOD.
No one wants to hear your conversation, please shut up!
I ride the the city bus to class, and I always have to deal with stupid young people that need to broadcast (perhaps they just want people to know they have them) their sex lives and how drunk they got or who they showed their boobs to.
Grow up, and call people when others don't have to suffer through your assinine conversations!
