The atmosphere over any continent is not homogeneous, but consists of several air masses, some warm and some cold, that move around. The boundaries between two air masses of different temperatures or humidity are called fronts.
Fronts produce high and low-pressure areas at ground level and these determine the type of weather at any time.
But the main factor that causes the weather changes is the unequal heating of the earth's surface(due to many local factors)by the solar radiation.

The Heat in the Sky

The Reason? Quite simple
The whole waer cycle depends on heat to help evaporate water, thus causing rain.
Not enough heat can cause freeze over water AND can change rain to snow (the heat is from a hotter source)
Many hibernators use heat to determine winter
Dry weather can be cause by too much heat and not enough moisture in the sky
Heat is oxygen, and oxygen fuels fire ( Carbon Dioxide PREVENTS)

This is kinda why global warming is kinda an issue- Heat
