In some countries, it's illegal to talk on a cell phone without a hands free system being used. The police give a nice little fine, but it generally doesn't deter people from doing it.

Yes. They are a road hazard.
Many states have tried to be kind to these bimbo's by passing laws that prohibit using cell phones while driving...but they simply ignore the law and do it anyway. They cause accidents and are involved in almost as many accidents as drunk drivers.
I say take 'em out of the cars. If a person normally carries a cell phone, it would have to be in the trunk while driving.
I treat them just like drunks and teenagers on the road.....deadly.

No, there should be a law banning MORONS in cars. Cell phones are no more distracting that radios, or passengers. I have actually seen people WRITING on paper while driving. The PHONE is never the problem. The person USING the phone is the problem.

No. It comes down to personal responsibility. We don't need to prohibit every little thing that might be the least bit hazardous. People should be held accountable for what goes wrong when they use bad judgment. Nothing wrong with using the phone while driving IF you have the capacity but it should be considered an aggravating factor if you run over some poor kid while you're yapping instead of paying attention to the road.

I don't think so, but I generally can multi-task. I use my cell phone all the time and I haven't got close to an accident yet. What helps me is I use my blue tooth a lot.
What kills me is they are trying to pass a law where you can't text message while driving. Come on, who can do that for crying out loud? Somebody must have got hurt and now they have to tell us that we shouldn't text message while driving. What a scary world we live in today.

i might choose to have this regulation plus one that disables cellular telephones in public places like libraries and different public places. while somebody gabs on a cellular telephone in a Starbucks or the food market then they turn public area into inner maximum area and that's erroneous. i do unlike catching one end of a noisy cellular telephone talker and listening to approximately this or that interior the guy's existence. it quite is inner maximum company and could stay that way. what's the subsequent degradation of public area? could married couples be allowed to combat in a cafe? possibly it quite is the only time they are in a position to social gathering to argue?

Yes. Several tests have shown that using a cell phone while driving is worse for safety than driving drunk.
