depends on the givens.
in general, the area = (length of one base) * (the altitude to that base)
the perimeter is the sum of the sides, which can be found in a variety of different ways, depending on the givens.

If you're in a trig class, you can drop a perpendicular from one of the parallel sides to the other and compute its length (the height of the parallelogram). Then run the perpendiculars from each of the "inner" two vertices, and you have two triangles and a rectangle, and you're in great shape.

If you're not in trig yet, you have to hope you're given a lot of information. In a few cases the Pythagorean Theorem helps.

Area= base x height
Perimeter = add all the lengths of the sides
