its a classical piece. its really elegant and refined and it feels like something that would be played in a ballroom during the 1700's and 1800's at a wealthy persons party. its definetly not sad and its quite pleasant and its very famous. iv heard it in a movie. iv herd it on piano and im pretty sure its played on violin also. im pretty sure a pianist would know what it is. im sure that a lot of pianists know how to play it. but at least give me some possible things it could be. i have to know what it is...

I am a classical pianist - I hope I can help you, but I may need a bit more info. Do you hear it at weddings ever? My first guess from the info you gave would be Boccherini's Minuet. Go to http://beyondaphelion.imeem.com/music/ermMdruW/minuet/ to listen.

It could be a waltz or a polka, or a schottishe. Those are usually played in a ballroom.
