Personally, I think the best diss is ignoring them and letting them look like idiots. Usually, playing it cool, laughing it off, or just plain walking away usually work. If someone says something stupid just laugh and say "I bet it took you all night to come up with that one..." or "I heard that on Yo Momma, can't you be more original than that?" I'd be able to give you more examples if you could put something specific that they say....

The difficulty with this question is that disses happen spontaneously. They are usually in response to what someone else has said.
Example:
Statement: you are such a whore!
Recovery: Yes, I am... but at least I am good enough to GET paid.
Or
Recovery 2: Yes, and you are my best paying customer. How does it feel to have to pay for it?
EDIT: Since you are a guy, if you are insulting a female in general you could say something like....
You are so easy they are going to have to bury you in a Y shaped coffin. ( If they don't get it.... then continue with something along these lines.)
You know.... you are just like the 7-11 "Cheap, easy access and your always open for business 24/7"

People get dissed as individuals. The minute you diss them back, your just another part of the crowd that does the same thing. This is where the statement "If you cant beat them, join them" is actually degrading.

Depends on the situation. I usually just call them a Communist or a Hillary; the terms are essentially interchangeable and the person is always plenty offended.

Depends what they say. If they don't get the hint I just walk up to em, say "btich you don't phase me!" and knock they block off.
