the chicken but not cause god made it.
to anyone actually who says it was god: the bible is not a good source as it has been proven wrong in several areas.
but the chicken because it took a chicken to lay the egg, and a rooster to do something to the egg in order to make a little chicken come out. otherwise the egg would be like the ones at the supermarket. so clearly an egg wouldnt be enough cause no chicken would have come out of it.

For those of you that are writing rooster, it's supposed to be inferred from the question that "chicken" refers to any of the sexes of fowl as "man" could refer to man or woman in some cases. Plus, a rooster can't give birth. Also, "the egg" is referring to a chicken egg, not a lizard/amphibian egg. You're supposed to interpret these things, not take them literally.
ANYWAY, the chicken definitely came first, I don't think God laid an egg. (horrible image)

The egg.
We all came from other animals through a long period of time
at some point, a chicken-similar animal layed an egg.. which was later on the type of chicken we see today.
just like humans come from the womb first, not out of thin air.
as if a chicken would just pop out of no where. I don't think so.
Has to come from the egg.

Lizards and amphibians started laying eggs about 150,000,000 years before the first chickens walked on earth.
