Ok, so my CD drive won't open, and there isn't any hole anywhere on the computer to manually open it. So now, I need to pry it open, and at this point, I'm too frustrated to care what happens to my computer. Yes, I know that a paperclip in the hole will open it. I have been staring at it for over an hour now, and I'm telling you that no holes are appearing. Can anybody tell me how to pry open a CD drive?

If you are really ready to quit caring, I would suggest a secret tech technique.
Open the computer, remove the drive, remove it's cover and take a look. With enough tinkering you will find how to get the drive to open.
Why it doesn't open on command is either hardware or the controlling circuits. If it ain't hardware, don't bother looking at the circuit board. Outside of a bulging chip, it won't tell you anything.

OK, no hole? You can unscrew the drive itself as a last destructive resort, meanwhile feeling good for this Viking-like method as it destroys the drive in the process.
