I have a 91% in my class
And the final is worth 10% of my grade
if were to score a 90 what would i get as my final grade?


And how do you do the math?

mark inclass * 0.9 = ? = 91 *0.9
final exam * 0.1 = 90 * 0.1

=90.9% = 91% (same as your mark currently)

Multiply 91 by 9 then add 90. Then divide by 10.

You would have a 90.9%

Ah, when people explain this it always sounds so confusing! It's really not:
(91% X 0.90) + (90% X 0.10) = 90.9%
That's:
[(grade that you have) times (percent it's worth of your total grade as a decimal)] plus [(grade on the final) times (percent it's worth of your total grade as a decimal)] equals (final grade in the class)
That way, you can figure out what you need to get on the final keep an A in the class or what ever by subbing in different grades for the final exam.
