I do surveys for surveyspot.com and have always gotten paid. It is usually $3 per survey $5 if you are lucky. They take about 15-40 minutes. The catch is that they are looking for certain demographics so sometimes you will attempt a survey but will not qualify to finish it and collect the money. Also there are slow times with very few surveys to take.
I have gotten to do follow up surveys where they send you a product to use and then report on it, $25/survey!

You have to take a lot of surveys before you earn any significant money, and if you are old enough to work, you could make money faster with a job that pays minimum wage.

Also, for some of the higher paying surveys, they are looking for a certain demographic, and you'll have to take a "pre-test" to see if you qualify. For instance, they might want to do a survey on big screen t.v.'s, but they're looking for people who make a certain amount of money per year and who are in a certain age range because those people are more likely to buy big screen t.v.'s They don't care about what features I might want in a big screen t.v. because I'm too poor to buy one.

The other thing is, once you sign up, they'll sell your email address to other survey companies and you'll have more spam than you know what to do with.

The main catch is that you aren't likely to actually get paid, or would get paid next to nothing. You'll get plenty of junk mail out of it, though.
