Hi,
I am 24 and 5 weeks pregnant. I have had brown discharge for the past 6 days. I went to the doc and they tested my HCG levels and it is still rising something like 2800. The doc said just rest but I am terrified i am going to have a miscarriage. Did anybody else have this when they were pregnant?

I had a lot of brown and red spotting with my daughter in the first trimester. I ended up having a small blod clot under the placenta and eevrything was fine. Just listen to your doctor and stay off your feet. My HCG levels were 5779 at 5 weeks and 4 days, but yours are still in a normal range. I'm assuming they will be checking them again and do an ultrasound soon. Good luck.

Tamara, when I was pregnant they didn't do that HCG level thing. My doc told me to stay in bed if I could for a couple of days, but if was going to miscarry I would miscarry. I spent a couple of dull days in bed, but I did not miscarry. I had a bit of spotting with my second as well, and just kept my feet up when I could. It does no good to be terrified of miscarriage. The stress is really hard on the system. I hope you don't miscarry, but if you do, it is nature's way and all will be well in the end.

i had brown discharge when i was about 16 weeks pregnant and i thought there was something wrong with my baby. my doctor told me to rest and everything was fine. thats its normal to have that during pregnancy and its ok to have a little blood, as long as its not a large amount and no pain either with the blood. the discharge is from your uterus shreading and sometimes it doesnt get all the extra blood out. thats what i was told from him. mine has now stoped and iam 27 weeks pregnant. im sure you will be fine ok hun, just rest and dont lift nothing heavy and DONT STRESS. good luck

at 5 weeks, I had SUCH bad cramping that I couldn't even move and was positive I was miscarrying. This happened to my friend too (who is due a week before me!). I think it is just early pregnancy pains. As for the blood.. it could be implantation bleeding. Many women spot and bleed during pregnancy, particularly early on.. although I've been lucky and have never bled. Go check it out with your doctor if the bleeding worsens or changes colour and the cramps still exist. best of luck to you xxxxxx

I had brown discharge pretty much my whole pregnancy with my son, he was born very healthy. Brown tinged discharge is usually just old blood.

Yes- and its okay. If it turns red, call your doc. (I miscarried once, but I bleed red. If its brown, its old blood).

Yes, probably an implantation bleed. Try not to stress too much.
