It really doesn't matter. The whole league is tainted.

As far as player on the 07' SOX there was Brendan Donnelly and Eric Gagne. Neither of which contributed to the DIVISON or WORLD SERIES wins. Donnelly because he was on the DL since JUNE & Gagne because he was a complete disaster from the time he bacame a RED SOX and actually ended up costing the RED SOX 5 wins in the regular season because he couln't close out games even with a multiple run lead.

I'm not going to say that players deserved to be named, but they should have looked into guys like David Ortiz, who grew huge in Boston. Of course, it could be a conspiracy, seeing as Mitchell is a director for the Red Sox. I thinked baseball should have had this done by a guy who had no personal bias once-so-ever. I don't think it was a cover up though, but you have to wonder....

I won't say they were totally clean, but why does everybody assume it's Ortiz and Ramirez? Hasn't Ortiz always been that big? Even during his time in Minnesota. Is it posible that when he got to Boston, he worked with the hitting coach and learned how to hit?
Jeff S mentioned a "certain shortstop". Thing is Nomar could always hit. He hit in college, in the minors and then when he got to th Majors. That "muscle bound" pic I'm pretty sure you're reffering to is the cover of SI, circa 2001, after he had won two batting crowns.

No they did not, just like every other team did not. Mitchell's report was pathetic. The whole report centered around two dealers from New York who just happened to have gotten caught. You'd think that every player got his drugs from New York, and no other city was involved.

There are players taking HGH and drugs that we haven't heard of right now as we speak, and yes, some of them are Red Sox, and also Dodgers, Mariners, Rangers, Diamondbacks, Rays, Marlins, and every other team out there. I am sick of hearing how "Twenty Yankees" took performance-enhancing drugs. Grimsley? Villone? Kevin Brown? A lot of these guys were Yankees for 5 minutes, most of their time was spent with other teams.

I knew going in that Mitchell wasn't going to give up any of his Red Sox, and he sure didn't disappoint me. For any Red Sox fan who thinks their team is totally clean, just how did David Ortiz go from a platoon player with little power to a big-time power hitter in one season? Part-time player with the Twins, awesome slugger with the Red Sox. What about a certain shortstop in the '90s and early 2000s, who went from a scrawny college player to a muscle-bound A.L. batting champ? You know ,the one who beat out Jeter for the A.L. batting title in 1999.

Triplezero-I closely follow college baseball, as I love prospects. Nomar was NOT a powerhitter at Georgia Tech. He was a 165-pound good field, decent hitting shortstop prospect. Yes, I am referring to the SI pic. However, even Bob Ryan, a Boston Globe columnist said two years ago that Nomar should just come out and admit steroid use. Dr. James Andrews has said that steroid users have injuries that are not commonplace. Look at Nomar's injuries that have short-circuited his career; a torn wrist sheath, tearing a groin muscle off the bone, and lots of other nagging injuries associated with steroid use. Come on, do you think Nomar has always been clean? Why do you think George Mitchell, a guy who has Red Sox ties, urged MLB not to continue looking for players who have taken them in the past? Why so many players who have played for the Yankees, but so few Red Sox. The report is garbage.
