18 or first intercourse. Or if you are having problems with your period or you get it at a very young age (to me young is 12, but most are not concerned with anyone over 10 anymore).

You defiantely need to go whenever you start having sex. If you are still a virgin, you should start going anyways, at around age 18.

I'd say whenever you learn what a Gyno is and the normal procedure for a pelvic exam.
