Baked goods, like cookies or gingerbread or small cake or loaf--maybe a gingerbread cookie that looks like her! If you can't buy her a CD, give up one of yours. You could also try writing her a poem telling her how hip she is!

If she likes jewelry you have lots of options to come up with neat and inexpensive gifts.( Earrings, bracelets, necklace, keyring, Hair decor.)A craft/hobby store sells supplies that are very inexpensive (depending on where you live). You can buy a package of pretty beads (a couple of bucks) a package of clasps (I paid .99 for 2 bracelet clasps), you can buy jewelry thread but you can also use fishing wire to string the beads on or thin cord, twine... If you are real creative you can figure a way to make your own clasp with a button and loop the thread. Cuffs are very popular and you can make those with elastic thread and little beads. You can buy a package of tiny beads very cheap. Put lots of beads on several strands then attach them so the cuff, or bracelet hugs the wrist. If she doesn't wear jewelry what about making her a coupon book with free offers for acts of love. Free babysitting, house cleaning, car washing, etc. If you have pictures of her or the two of you - you might make a memory book and mount the pictures and frame them with card stock (old greeting cards work for this) then punch some holes, thread some ribbon and have a neat little book to remind her of YOU! You can even embellish with pretty buttons and silk bows! Anything you think is neat. Contact paper is inexpensive as well. I personally appreciate home made gifts more than any. It takes thought and time which most people don't have to give. One more idea. Take a bowl and put a light layer of vaseline on the outside. Take Elmers glue and dilute it with just a little water (so it's spreadable). Then layer tissue paper on the bowl by brushing it with glue. You can add dried flowers, leaves or even silk flowers between the layers. Let it dry. Pop it off the bowl and wala! a home made chip bowl. You could put a coat of polyeurathane of water repellant or place a pretty cloth (dinner napkin) in it for serving. I hope at least one of these ideas are helpful. Your heart for your aunt seems to me like the greatest gift. What a special niece. Blessed Christmas.

Can you sew? covered coat hangers for delicate clothes.

What does hip mean? She likes chunky bead necklaces?

If she is into plants, you could always pot up nice flowering plants, or if you have an old big pot, a mini garden with flowering plants or herbs, etc.

Perhaps a free oil change and tuneup on her can if you can manage that.

Can you do woodwork? Perhaps you can make some of those wooden puzzles if she is into that. One of the simplest if you have a band saw is a 4"x4"x12 block of wood, dressed then two length wise wavy cuts on each side. Ot there are the more instricate ones that interlock.

shoe rack?

You really need to tell us more about her interests and your skills and resources.

Have you tried easy arts and craft? Funky christmas decorations are a good idea and if your good at collages or using a hot glue gun you could make a cute picture frame or desk decoration. Buttons, old mirrors and photos are good place to start.

A letter telling her why you are glad she's in your life. Or a gift of one of her favorite foods that you can make at home. Knit or crochet her something, or make her a pretty pillow for her bed, or frame a picture of the two of you with a nice poem that expresses your feelings.
Best of luck.

Yeah...photos are probably your best bet, cuz they hold more sentimental value (so even if they're presented in a horrible macaroni frame, which I don't suggest you do, they're still treasured.)

Make her a collage of old photographs, and then put a frame around it. She will love it and leave it out for all to see.
