Hi, my baby will be 4 weeks old this Tuesday. He is a healthy full term baby. He grunts all of the time. Has anyone experienced that? I know he has a lot of gas (i hear it!) but i don't think he is constipated because he has a lot of dirty diapers. He is being breastfed exclusively. The pediatrician told me not to worry about it but I worry anyway. I wonder if he can hurt his throat? He sounds like a goat (haha!). Thanks!

LOL My duaghter was born on the same day as your son. She does the same thing!! BADLY!! Her nickname is Princess Grunt. It's not harmful to them.

My son is 8 weeks old and grunts constantly. He is a noisy baby and makes noises all day/night long. While he's sleeping, while he's awake, while he's nursing. It's funny. I don't worry about it though. His doc says he's just a noisy baby. I think it's cute. He's just started to make loud grunts as part of his little talking spells!

my daughter is almost 8 months and she still grunts sometimes. she used to grunt almost non-stop, mostly at around 4 months- though she started much earlier. I don't think it's as bad for them as it is for the parents. I feel like she's drilling into my brain sometimes...gotta love these little creatures and all their little pecularities. I know i'll miss this when she'll be all grown up

Oh, I love those baby grunts! Enjoy it while it lasts - pretty soon he'll be on to other things. Nothing to worry about.

well i'll just join the club. my daughter was born that day as well and she LOVES grunting. it sounds like it would hurt her throat, but she's perfectly normal according to the doc. congrats to the two of you!!
