well taking pictures is more than just waving a camera around. Keep practising. Maybe get a book on composition and take a class !
For the stop sign pic, if you had the stop sign in clear focus, with a camera mounted on a tripod, and Then took a long exposure picture, You would see the stop sign perfectly in focus, and bright streaks of light flashing by,giving the illusion that all the cars were just flying through the stop sign.

for the heart, one, if you fingers were closer together the heart shape would be more pronounced, and also, never shoot INTO the sun, have the sun at your back.
Holding the camera that close to your face to try and do a self portrait isn't going to work because the camera makes your face look distorted.

Definitely. But in my humble opinion, self-portraits don't tend to be considered 'art'. (Unless you're really creative and think of something outo f the box.)
Some are a little "generic" and not creative. (I'm thinking of #4 specifically.)
Get a nice camera, and learn about shutter speed, apeture etc. and I'm SURE you'll be a great photographer.
just learn to be more aware of your environment and I'm sure you'll see some great shots.

It looks like all those were takin with a camera phone. Get a GREAT camera and maybe your artisic abilities will show a bit better. But these are not ART... sorry =(

Sorry but not really. You need to learn about the angles of light. Also, taking pictures of yourself usually dont come out looking the best.

Honestly No.A lot of the pictures were burly(unless they were suppsoe to come out like that).Just keep taking pictures.You will be good before you know it.
