Just shift the decimal point to left. For example if your bill is $123.47 then a 10% tip would be $12.35 (rounding up).

10% would be 10 cents on a dollar. So a 10% tip on $20.00 would be $2.00. Multiply the % times the cost, 20.00 X 10 = 20000. you are multiplying by two places in 10 as .10 and two places in 20.00. move 4 places to the right and you have 2.00. Say you spend $35.00 and the tip is 10% just move the decimal point one place to the right and you have $3.50.The average tip is 15% or more and has been for 40 years So a tip on $35.00 would be 3.50 pluss half this amount , being 1.75 add together and there's you tip. $4.75.

Well, 15 cents of every dollar is 15 percent so round off the bill to the nearest dollar. If the bill were 37.68 then round off to 38 or to the next ten which would be 40. 15 x 10= 1.40 1.40 x 4 = 5.60

Easy. For instance on a bill for $18.00, move the decimal point one space to the left for an amount of $1.80. That will be 10%.
