The Great White and another species have different types of sperm and egg "lock and key" mechanisms for fertilization. The sperm from one species will be unable to penetrate into the egg of another due to specific species specific protein receptors.

Read what David b says in his answer as that is the current state of affairs today but I'd say it would not be long before someone could fertilize a croc or alli egg with great white sperm just by making a couple small genetic snips on their chromosomes. We can make babies to order already but it has not been done to our knowledge as it is considered "unethical".
